Coffee beans are the seeds of the Coffea plant and are the primary source of coffee, a popular brewed drink. The beans are usually roasted and ground to produce coffee powder, which is then brewed with hot water to make coffee.
Originating from tropical Africa, specifically Ethiopia, coffee plants are now grown in over 70 countries, primarily in the equatorial regions of the Americas, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Coffee cultivation and trade began on the Arabian Peninsula.
Raw coffee beans have a mild, earthy, and slightly woody taste, but the roasting process transforms them into beans with rich, varying flavors depending on the roast level, ranging from fruity and nutty to chocolaty and smoky.
